Harper’s Room Reveal

4th grade is a big year for a little girl filled with lots of changes and growing. So when Harper told me her room was too young, and wanted to change it, I was excited to start the project! Her room hadn’t had any changes since we first moved into this house 3 years ago. We ripped out the hideous built in book cases, ripped out the carpeting, painted, and replaced the light fixture, but that was about it. It was time for a “tween” room. Below is her room when we first moved in - wow, gross. We originally just left the built in dresser to the left and covered it up with her dresser. We had a lot of work we did when we first moved in so at the time it wasn’t a big priority.

This time around, she wanted to rearranging her furniture and make room for a desk and mirror so we needed to removed the dresser so we could move her dresser a bit. We also changed out the light fixture, painted, and added a few more items that made the room feel more grown up. The desk, chair, curtains, wallpaper, light fixture, and rug are all from Amazon. The wallpaper is peel and stick and surprisingly great quality. I’ve never wallpapered anything before so I guess I don’t really have anything to compare it to, but it was relatively easy to apply, and so far hasn’t had any issues. Her favorite part of her room is the wallpaper, so I’m so happy we ended up doing it.

Her dresser and bed are from Pottery Barn, and she’s had them for years. They’re amazing quality - the saying holds true, “you get what you pay for”. The mirror was actually in our office but was too small for the space so I moved it up, and it fits perfectly in her room. The nightstand actually used to be mine when I was younger, and I recently found it at my parents’ house and brought it over and painted it. Pillows, duvet, lamp and everything else is from Target. I’ll link everything I can at the end.
