Weekly Grocery Grabs

A couple weeks ago I asked you guys if you would be interested in what I got from Trader Joe’s on my weekly run so I thought I would share here what items I pick up on a weekly basis. I hate throwing uneaten food out at the end of the week so everything I get has multiple uses. It’s pretty basic but clean, unprocessed foods are the way to go.

Produce:

  • Spinach - I use spinach in everything - smoothies, eggs, pasta, anything. It’s pretty tasteless when it’s cooked so the fam never complains

  • Onions - I cook them in everything

  • Mushrooms - everyone in my family except Jax likes them so I find a way to incorporate them into any dinner

  • Assorted peppers - great for cooking, snacking, etc.

  • Lemons - used in everything

  • Some sort of grain alternative (zoodles, cauliflower rice, etc)

  • Extra veggies - usually brussels, cauliflower or broccoli

  • Fruit - bananas and berries

Meat:

Ground turkey, chicken breast and chicken sausage

Pantry:

Marina, crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, olives, brown rice & lentil pasta, brown rice, quinoa, pita bread

Snacks:

Popcorn, lentil crackers, cheese, nuts, trail mix

Drinks:

Sparkling water, water, WINE, juice for the kids
