The Products That Changed My Skin
In case you’re new around here I have been on a serious skincare journey the past 6 months. 34 did dirty and gave me all sorts of problems - texture, hyper pigmentation and all around adult acne. Several trips to Sephora and several hundred dollars later, I felt defeated. Literally nothing worked.
Enter my skincare wonder esthetician who introduced me to a world of medical grade products. She explained that while the products I had shelled out way too much money for weren’t necessarily bad, they weren’t great either. She told me to look at the ingredients and while the product said it was Vitamin C, Vitamin B, Retinol, etc. those ingredients weren’t in the top of the list.
So, let’s talk about what the products that helped change my skin from the photo on the left to the right.
Morning Routine
ZO Skincare Exfoliating Polish - Gently removes dead skin cells to instantly reveal smoother, softer + glowing skin. This is probably one of my favorite products of all of them. It provides INSTANT softness and my makeup looks great and lasts all day. Say goodbye to any dead skin.
Zo Skincare Complexion Renewal Pads - Removes excess surface oil and pore-clogging debris to renew + tone skin. I use these both in the am & pm and cut them in half so they last longer. A little spicy but makes my skin feel super smooth. I love them so much I'm already on my third tub.
Skin Ceuticals CE Ferulic - A patented daytime vitamin C serum that delivers advanced environmental protection and improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness, and brightens skin's complexion. Also one of my favorite products - it instantly brightens my skin while protecting it against environmental damage.
Skin Ceuticals Hydrating B5 Serum - An oil free hydrating serum replenishes moisture and restores radiance for a smoother complexion. This product is great because it’s light and works perfectly under makeup. As someone with dry skin, this is an essential.
ZO Skincare Sunscreen and Primer - This dual-action sunscreen, with ZOX12® complex, protects against the damaging effects from UVA/UVB and IR-A rays, and from HEV light. Hydrates and doubles as a makeup primer for a smooth matte finish, diminishing skin imperfections. I use this particular sunscreen on makeup days. It’s heavier and works perfectly as a primer.
Skin Ceuticals Sheer Physical UV Defense - Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50 is an ultra-sheer, transparent sunscreen fluid that offers broad spectrum protection for all skin types, including sensitive. This is the one that I use 75% of the time. It is super lightweight and applies evenly. The packaging is also light and perfect to throw in a beach bag.
Nighttime Routine
Skin Ceuticals LHA Cleansing Gel - Exfoliating gel cleanser decongests pores, smoothes skin texture, and brightens skin. This cleanser is a mix of lipo-hydroxy acid, glycolic acid, salicylic acid so it provides a deep cleanse but is still mild enough to use daily. Also one of my favorite products.
Skin Ceuticals Eye Balm - A rich, hydrating cream helps reduce puffiness and improves visible signs of aging around the eye area. Helps keep my underlies hydrated while eliminating crow’s feet. I also use it in the morning.
ZO Skincare Wrinkle + Texture Repair - a high-potency retinol that reactivates the process of skin renewal to restore natural hydration, visibly improving the appearance of wrinkles and refining skin texture. This stuff is serious but it has done insane things for my texture. Start out slow but you will 100% be blown away by the results.
Skin Ceuticals HA Intensifier Serum - H.A. Intensifier is a multi-beneficial corrective serum proven to amplify skin’s hyaluronic acid levels. I love this at night because t’s a bit thicker then the B5 serum. I use an entire pump and slather it on.
Ok, that completes the lineup. I realize the products are pricey and can add up but you’re investing in your face! Feeling better without makeup is priceless in my opinion.
